Ever since the Telangana declaration has come up, all my social media sites are filled up with message, status, links and what not all statistics(dont know how many credible). There are always posts suggesting the losses and there are always posts suggesting otherwise as well. I am not posting this because I am in favor of any. There is this one post that kind of touched a chord. So, he has put up a post asking question to someone educated etc. to give him answers.
Though I may not be able to put up with all the questions, I find it hard to not answer some of them. A big disclaimer before I put the questions is that I am not against telangana separate and also not in favor of Seemandhra. My views are just that I dont care as long as it finds its development course. So here goes nothing:
1. Does TCS or Infosys or any other software company offer jobs based on the region?
No it doesnt. Since its totally credit based( atleast thats my view), it doesnt see which region you belong to.
2. Give me atleast 3 benefits that you personally enjoy after the formation of Telangana?
Well this is like a question to be thought of. Let me rephrase the question.. Give me atmost 3 losses you personally have if there is a formation of Telangana.
3. Can you guarantee that you can feed the entire people of your state without importing Rice from any part of the country? ( Assume you take the entire water resources)
No. Nothing can be of guarantee.. This question is like asking a mother if the child will grow up and become healthy. Yes there have been plans about improving which might probably come into effect. Here are some facts about water levels and utilization . I apologise for the source being telangana oriented but I am sure the facts are true.http://www.telanganafocus.com/tel_land_water.html. Anyways, feeding has not always been a problem.
4. Can you guarantee that every single educational institute in your area is 100% full and there were shortage of seats?
One more hypothetical question. The same can be asked for the other region as well.
5. Do you know the loss we incurred due to these foolish agitations? Why did many companies shift their bases from Hyderabad to Pune or Bangalore?
While I agree on the losses incurred, its only because there have not been any other areas in AP to do this. This is solely due to the build up of IT industry which got concentrated in Hyderabad. Now this is something that couldnt have been avoided. But since the agitation is done, its up to the future leaders of this Separate State or whomever the city belongs to, to have enough welcome nature for commerce.
6. Do you guarantee that all the unemployed educated youth gets a job related to his field of study after the new state is formed?
Yet another hypothetical question. While it can never be guaranteed a 100%, it gives an ample oppurtunity for the youth to get jobs. Being united or separated didnt make much difference but this is too early to make a statement.
1. Hyderabad was developed by some great politicians from Andhra and not from Telangana. It was the people of Telangana who are looting from the people of Andhra.
The same would not have been so if the capital was somewhere else but honestly during the formation of State, there was no such city that could have been big enough to hold a State Government or Secratariat. Any capital is by default benefited by the local people and has to be developed by the politicians. Considering politicians, I am not sure if the development was just through government policies or their own personal properties that got the city developed. If its their own personal interest, then there lies the question "Where the heck did they get the money?"
2. You always complain that the people of Andhra were looting your resources. Then from which part of the country are you getting the food resources? Don't complain that you don't have water resources. Even if you have show me the areas where you can grow food crops in the areas where you can find coal.
This has been a little riddiculous. The loot was not in the sense of food. The loot was in the sense of oppurtunities and development. The coal belt is also a region for cultivation and I personally have seen enough places for cultivation. Its not just the 4 districts (Adilabad, Karimnagar,Warangal, Khammam) that form Telangana. Its got more than that. And the so called food can never be a problem. Water resources have always been a problem with this part of the state. If there had been enough reserves, there probably would have been more cultivation.
The remaining points were directed to one professor whom even I am not sure how to explain. Ofcourse, the fingers can always be pointed to the other side which is fighting with leaders who have been ardent followers of polygomy and have been publicly displaying it. There are also occassions for tampered media and other postings which make the agitation look ridiculous. But hey, these are just my views.
One cannot assume the growth of a child just before birth. Its the parent and the surroundings that mould them. So is the case with a state. It might have been born out of lot of agitation and a lot of finger pointing. But if the attitude of people supporting is good enough, if the will and strength of people is strong , if the vision and direction of our leaders is undisputed, if the plan and implementation of the bureaucrats is undeterred we might see a new power emerging out of South India that may itself call "Great Telangana".
I do respect Non-Telangana people and I am not so narrowminded as to hate their leaders. They are bound to their duty and ofcourse their properties a majority of which are in Telangana.(Specifically at the Capital).
